Reiki Reality is part of the business group Reality Living Ltd and is committed to protecting your privacy. By supplying your details to Reiki Reality in your Consent Form for a Reiki Treatment with Rebecca Read, you consent to Reiki Reality collecting and processing your information for the purpose of the Reiki Treatment we provide in accordance with UK GDPR.

Acceptance
Reiki Reality adheres to ‘UK GDPR’ following the ‘The Data Protection, Privacy and Electronic Communications (Amendments etc) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019’ post-Brexit leaving of the EU. The ICO will remain the independent supervisory body regarding the UK’s data protection legislation.
We collect and record basic personal information (e.g., name, e-mail address, mailing address, phone number, next of kin, emergency contact info - in the event of an emergency medical situation) which you voluntarily provide through your Consent Form and through the electronic mail you send to us, or through other means of communication between you and us.
We only collect personal information of a more sensitive nature (EG medical history and medicine) where it is appropriate or necessary and at the client’s discretion for the purpose of providing to a Medical Professional in the event of an emergency medical situation or if there is a serious risk of harm to the client or to others. This information will be collected, stored, accessed and processed in a secure manner.

How We Use Information
As a Data Controller, we will only use your personal data in compliance with applicable law. For example, under the UK GDPR, we may be required to have a legal basis for processing your personal data.
We use the information we collect to provide you with services which you request and to improve our existing service. When you contact us, we may keep a record of your communication to help solve any issues that you might be facing. Your information may be retained for a reasonable time for use in future contact with you, or for future improvements to our services. In certain situations, Reiki Reality may be required to disclose personal data in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements. We may also use or disclose your personal information when we believe, in good faith, that such use or disclosure is reasonably necessary to (i) comply with a subpoena, bankruptcy proceedings, or similar legal process as required by law, (ii) enforce or apply the terms of any of our user agreements, EG to disclose to a medical professional in an event of medical emergency. We reserve the right to transfer and disclose your information if we become involved in a business divestiture, change of control, sale, merger, or acquisition of all or a part of our business.
We only collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 16 with the consent of their Parent or Guardian for the purposes of a Reiki Treatment and any treatments are only conducted with the Parent, Guardian or Chaperone in situ.

Data Retention: How Long We Keep Your Personal Data
We will retain personal data which we process on behalf of our customers for as long as appropriate to provide services and products to our customers in accordance with any agreement in place with our customers and for other legitimate purposes. When you contact us, we may keep a record of personal data contained in your communication to help solve any issues that you might be facing. Your personal data may be retained for as long as appropriate to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirement, and for other legitimate purposes. In determining how long we will retain personal data; we will consider all relevant factors.

The security of your personal information is important to us. We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it.

Monitoring and Enforcement
We regularly review our compliance with our Privacy Policy. We also adhere to several self-regulatory frameworks in addition to complying with applicable law. If we receive formal written complaints, we will follow up with the person making the complaint. We work with the appropriate regulatory authorities to resolve any complaints that cannot be resolved directly.

Accessing and Updating Your Personal Information
Upon request, Reiki Reality will provide you with information about any of your personal information we hold. If you have provided us with your personal information, you may have the right to inspect the information stored by us for accuracy or may request that the information be removed from our files. We will make a reasonable effort to comply with such requests within 10 to 15 days business except where it would require a disproportionate effort (for example developing a new system or changing an existing practice). We may require that you verify your identity before we act on a request to edit or remove your information.
